Hey. Hoping someone can help me. My mate's got an XR6 Turbo and its got a Phase II APS kit. Its got about 330kws - fairly quick car however the gearbox/clutch has been giving him problems - basically he blew its first gearbox and got it replaced and also got a "Bullet" high performance clutch that also goes in RX7s. 2nd, 3rd, 4th seems fine however starting in 1st on an incline plain - the car shutters quite violently and driveline makes a lot of noise - I'm in Perth and looking for somewhere to take it - any suggestions..?

My car (EL) has the same problem, sounds like a warped flywheel or pressure plate. Unless it's something to do with the normal characteristics of the upgraded clutch.

Also be careful with that gearbox, ford were really struggling to get it to handle 450Nm so if your making much more than that and giving it a hard time dont expect it to last very long.

If you have $$ get one of the new BAII 6 speed gearboxes - or wait a few years until some are at the wreckers.

Wheels broke a Typhoon's 6 slot box, flat-changing at PCOTY. I'd think the APS Phase II kit would have similar if not more torque than a Typhoon's 550nm.

I don't think Wheels, or Motor or whoever drove the Typhoon's, broke the gearbox, they rooted a clutch flat shifting, got another car brought out to the track, and stuffed that clutch as well. Thats why the Typhoon isn't in the PCOTY. Ford just said that their cars weren't meant to be flat shifted! Pretty piss poor effort FORD.
