I am seriously considering buying a set of Yokohama V100 tyres from Bob Jane T-marts. The guy said he can give them to me for $190 and he reckons they retail for around $450. i dont know if he is talking s**t or not. he also reckons the V100 is one of the best tyres on the market at the moment. is this true? I cant seem to find any info on them. Feedback on this tyre would be much appreciated!

So, yeah might be stretching the truth a bit, best bet is to ring around other tyre shops to see what their prices are.

had yoko's on the eb, and i found they were a great tyre.

mate the V100's are 2 series old, so if he has some V100's floating round they would be a few years old now and a bit hard, got the new genaration of yokie tyres, the new V102 are good but costly, a good option is the Yokie C.Drives, they provide about as much performance out of the car as you are likely to need, plus they are a silica compound as opposed to a rubber compound of the V100's the new V102's are the same tread compound as the C.Drives but a much more aggressive tread pattern see below..

For what it's worth, I brought some C-Drives after a few folks here gave them a good spiel. But to be honest, I'm not that impressed with them. I find them extremely noisey (screech'n and squeel'n when under pressure). You'd still have to be driving pretty freak'n wild to break traction, but they do make alot of noise on what I would consider modest corners.

For the record, I previously had Bridgestone's, Dunlops, and Goodyears on my (lowered) EL, but by far the best I ever had on it was the Pirelli's.

I know these are a bit pricey for some folk, but they (IMO) whipped every other tyre I've had on the car.
