My bf xr8 currently has 130 000 on the clock, and i am wanting to do a service on the gearbox. I have been told they do not require servicing, but for peace of mind i want to at least change the oil. SYnthetic oil has to be cheaper than a new gearbox haha.

I have been told to use Shell ATFM 1375.4, does anyone know how much it would cost to service the box with a new filter, gasket, etc.

It'll be surprisingly expensive.

The oil is something like $60/l and you need 13-15L of it.

then there's the plastic filter+pan (one piece) to replace.

Many go for a steel pan and replaceable filter (from BMW).

I wouldnt mind doing this too, wow that is expensive oil!
