G'day guys , so... I've got a problem, well i got 99 of 'em but my tranny shouldn't be one.
anyway , I'm having trouble getting info on the zf 6spd auto both from bf and fg. Should they be the same box ? At the moment my auto is stuffed and an opportunity has come up to buy an 6spd from an fg model. Would a swap be possible ? Any input would be appreciated. Given the circumstances I'd rather not pay $4k + ..hell no one would want to.

In short the box will fit, but the electronic brain of the trans wont talk to the ECU. you can try swapping the meagtronics units over, but if this is where your fault is it wont fix it. ohh and the turbo boxes are different to the non turbo. will also bolt up but wont last

Thanks, i have a box out of a G6E turbo, I've been told that by different transmission specialists that exact same thing. I've also been told, yeah i can be done they ''re-program'' the box. Quoted $400 for a swap over plus oil.what you thinks ?
