Please pardon my age but I have a question that a computer nerd like myself should know
I have a September 1990 EA Ghia. The latest car I have owned before this was a 85 JD camira (Just had to have a JD ). It's ironic in a way. Alway's have followed Ford but have only ever owned a XY back in the early 80's before this one. Owned heaps of Mini's but. Did the EA have remote key fob and if so, can anyone give me some advice on how to go about to open my car remotely? without talking to one of those mindnumming, mindwashed Ford sparepart's personal. (My apologies if you are one of those mindnumming, mindwashed Ford sparepart's personal)

I am pretty sure that the Ford key fobs only came out with EB series 2 and onwards, when smartlock was introduced to the cars. So I'm guessing the only way to do it would be to put smartlock in your car (which would be a lot of work I imagine), or get some third party remote job.
Hope that helps.

The EA's did not have them standard that I can remember, the only way is to invest $$ in a vehicle security system with central locking outputs, or change to a remote central locking kit.

G'day all, yes Smartlock (with remote central locking) came with the EB 2, so I'm afraind japa62 that you may have to invest in an aftermarket system as ghiawar suggested.
