HI ALL,

Over the last few days, when i unlock my EF Fairmont it goes crazy and locks/unlocks itself about 3 or 4 times. Then when I press the button again to unlock it, it is fine.

Any help on this would be great......

It could be one of a few things, but it sounds like:

In the bottom of the passenger side "B" pillar is a connector which takes the power to the locking solenoids. This connector often gets wet, and thus rusted, thus destroying the wiring in the connector. This can then cause problems with the locking system.

It is a bugger to get to, as the pillar has sound dampening stuff in it.

The other thing it may be is one of the locking solenoids is stuffed. The only way to check this is to isolate each solenoid one at a time, and see if it then locks normally
