MATE! to wash the inside of your wheel you need to remove the wheel from the car and use some hard yakka and commonsense and clean using brushes or sponges etc That should remove the brake dust and alike. falcon1999, if you don't have any elbow grease in the workshop, go here for a tub or two.

i just use hot soapy water... and a rag... lifts easy if you clean them shiney once a week..
  if you let it build up.. the brake s**t stains and is a b**ch to get clean.. although carby cleaners helps... |
