my post was a 10 sec job showing costs, and how imo its near impossible..

didn't even stop to think no exhaust for 1 second hehe..

a c9 can be modified to hold a lot of power, iv seen it done on a few v8's. no idea how much $$$ though

im yet to see a standard gt35/40 unmodified to run a 9 in a ba

A fully manualised C4 with bloody big girdle between sump to resist twist
is $5000 with 3000 converter and A.U bellhousing adapted..

Most the quick cars have had $$ spent on auto and suspension.. Though illegal I have seen ladder bars on E series.. Wouldn't know till you notice the top control arm is missing..

What about powerglides? An old friend had one with reverse pattern manual valve body, transbrake and scatter shield for sale for $3500. Rated to 1000hp and never used.

For 12 k you can crack a 10 but the methods used to do so would be rather crude. When you are a tight a*** you cut corners like using a lower spec ECU and smaller injectors and bumping up your fuel pressure. All your safety factors diminish to 1 real quick. Years ago before programmable ECU's and 1000cc injectors, the accepted practice was to plumb extra injectors into the intake piping and trigger them off Hobbs pressure switches of various ratings. Such backyard engineering got many a VL turbo into the 10's. it was a lot of guess work but if guessed right it was far cheaper than the aftermarket ECU route.

By the way how much did the mikes dyno EA cost to build? 7 or 8k? and what was that running at the time? low 11's high 10's?
