Hey a mate of mine has just got a new car its a Fairlane. He has a question when the car is locked if he pulls up the door handle the interior lights turn on. What is this for, and how do we get rid of it.

its a factory courtesy option. helps u too see when getting in at night, lights up the door locks too so u can see where to put the key at night.
inside the door there is a switch on the back of all four door handles, take the door trims off and remove one or two of the switch wires and tape up. will stop the feature from working. |

What he was also saying is that its good for thief's to have a look what you got in your car. Thats why he wants to get rid of it. |

Interesting, so is that carried through the fairlane e series, or just boxcars?
