Hi
I am currently in the process of replacing my water pump for my falcon ED, but i am having troubles in removing that huge bolt that connects the fan to the water pump. Any suggestions? or links? Been trying for at least a couple of hours with no luck.

thanks :x

Have you tried undoing the nut in a clockwise direction?

thanks but i think im in need of larger open ended or a non slip spanner. The largest ive got is a 300mm but its too thick and slips. What is the correct size? I think I heard it was 32mm?

I had to heat mine up with a little butane torch, worked a treat. I replaced my fan with thermos so I'm not sure if the heat damaged the clutch assembly, I doubt it but if you are careful.

Hi There

If you can't borrow the correct sized spanner.......
I got a 32mm Supa-Works Gold from Supercheap Auto for under $20.
Other places / brands were heading towards the $50 mark.
Worked fine getting the fan off and on my EA.

Good Luck

Alright well theres nothing else you have to do prior, right? eg taking the radiator out. the mechanics say no, just use a spanner or wrench, and wedge something between the four screws on the pulley and it should loosen up.

I think 'should' is the operative word here.

They can be VERY VERY tight.
