so what you are saying is that it runs on gas fine but not on petrol?

I'm going to guess its a carby ute?

you will probably find that theres probably a number of problems happening which probably include;

1. the fuels stale
2. the fuel pump is dead from not being used
3. the carby has dried out from being driven on gas all the time
4. theres crap in the fuel thank that needs cleaning out

fuel tank has orange s**t caked in it fuel pump was stuffed orange powder caked in it the petrol diode is f**k doesnt open constant closed

put new carby and pump on and fuel hose with no cut off diode from pump to carby and still when driving it cuts out when u use a norm amount of pedal (or any pedal for tht matter )to collect speed and u hae to just touch the pedal so she doesnt stall and keep revs at 1100rpm all the time when car not moveing

that black powder is soot from the motor, a great symptom of the car running too rich
probably because your carby is fu*ked, idol speed is controlled by a screw on the throttle linkage so you should be able to adjust that.

something that might make it run better is directly above where the EGR point enters the inlet manifold (egr being the pipe that goes from the exhaust over the rocker cover and into the inlet below the carby) there will be a hole in the carby that you can stick a flat head screwdriver in. this is the idol mixture screw, if you lean it off a bit the ute might drive a bit better.
