Got some bogging to do on Rach's EF and remember last time I tried bogging failed badly.
So this tin says a 50 to 1 mix... what easiest to measure that? Weighing out 50gm of filler then adding 1gm of hardner? Cheers (from an uneducated filler user) RD

getting the ratio right each time comes with practice. try and mix it consistently each time. otherwise if u use more hardener in the second batch it will be harder to sand than the first and the softer bog will sand out first leaving a low. put some bog on your mixing board, around 15cm circle of bog and put 4cm line of hardener next to it. roughly gauge to 50 parts to 1 part ratio, if it looks about right mix them in together making sure u cant see streaks of hardener though the mixed bog. u normally get about 10-15 mins to apply. dont use it too thick as it sags,go up to about 1cm thick and reapply if needed.
always use a good quality sandpaper 3m or norton and a hard block to rub back, the paper should always feel sharp, so use it till it starts to get slow to cut. then get a new piece. make sure u grind the area u are bogging first with 24-36grit paper or angle grinder to help it stick and dont bog over paint as it can cause dramas later. use freecut paper not wet and dry as the bog will soak up water and cause the steel to rust underneath. start sanding to cut it down with 80 grit, leaving it slightly higher than needed, follow with 180 grit and finish with 320 grit. then u are ready to prime good luck |

I just really estimate and it hasn't failed me so far i would rather use less than more though because too much and i dont even get enough time to apply it properly !

Yea i just estimate realy..... but once you get the right mix a few times it comes naturaly.
Once you find a good mix that suits you remember what the colour looks like and go by that..... |
