ok i started my car up today it was cold it gave a loud ticking like lifter sound and it struggled to keep revs and notice alot of smoke coming from the exhaust which lasted around 45secs and continued to idle really ruff

after the smoke had cleared i went to move it to test how it would be under load again it struggled to keep a good idle and rev like a huge miss the whole engine begun to shake due to the miss

it had no power what so ever def not able to be driven i thought it may had dropped a valve it was that bad

so at work i removed the cam/rocker cover everything seemed to be in place valve springs all in place valves seemed in good order the rockers had no movement what so ever engine had penty of oil clean coolant no hoses i noticed had been disconnected

im stumped i have no idea what it is but i did get a picture of what seems to be a hole between pistons 1 and 2 on the inlet side but i remember seeing this hole over 30,000km ago and thought it might just come like that for a drain hole

any help would be great
thanks
justin

Can't really help you with the bigger problem, but the hole is actually a drain back hole for oil.

i have been playing around abit with it i removed the plugs today and noticed they are oily/really dirty i got a feeling my crank pressure valve was stuck open and the oily gasses have got into the intake and clogged up my spark plugs ...

it would explain the huge miss on 2cyls or more the smoke from the exhaust

im going to throw new plugs in it tomorrow and see what diffrence it has made

is the smoke more like steam and is it loosing coolant at all??

or is the smoke oil smoke?? your oil and compression rings might be worn out causing excess compression and oil blowby forcing oil past the pistons and oil through the pcv valve into your intake fouling your plugs.

By the looks of the inside of your engine, i'd be thinking about using a better oil too.

im going to do a compression test later this week im going to double check the map sensor (i may just replace it anyway) i does not use any coolant at all but will pressure test that also

i use good oil its due for a change now but i think the owner before me used cheap oil i use edge sport which i believe is a good oil

I don't think the previous owner used cheap oil because your engine has oil sludge buildup which is caused by not changing the oil at regular intervals. I would change your oil every 5000km with a new filter because oil's have detergents in them and the more regular changes may be able to clean out all the sludge.
