I have never done it, didplenty of wrecks, support the car accordingly use the spring compressors and do one side at atime.

I just recently replaced the rear springs in my EL Fairmont.

1) Jack the rear of the car up(take wheels off) and put it on axel stands on the chassis support rails.
2) Place a jack under the diff and take the weight off the shocks
3) Undo the top and bottom shock bolts and remove. I found this the easiest way to remove the springs, plus superlows will require shortened shocks.
4) Now lower the jack from the diff so it should just hang(note: watch the diff breather hose)
5) The springs should now just pull out, without using spring compressors.

Reverse procedure to install.............

Your also forgetting, and need to, loosen all bolts attaching the control arms and watts link and tighten them back up when the car is on normal ride height.

Otherwise you will f**k the bushes quick smart, and the car may never sit as low as it should.

No need to take the wheels off btw.

I did mine by jacking the car right up, put on chassis stands, undo lower shock bolt, push shock up then take spring out and swap. Easy, takes about 20 mins if you're snappy.
