Anyone know where you can buy just the steel plate that bolts to the head so I can start making my own manifold? Ive tryed a few exhaust shops but they want to sell you extractors

Or if anyone has a log manifold they want to unload for a fair price il be interested. Suit EL

Thanx guys

ea throught to au all had the same bolt pattern for the exhaust, it'd be easy enough to make a log manifold out of the factory exhaust manifold but to do so you'll need to have the turbo that you want to use, so then you could get a idea on the flange for the turbo, then get the bolt pattern off the exhaust and with some 6mm plate and what ever length of steam pipe you need, you could make an adaptor to go on the factory manifold, only really need a drill a weldor and basic hand tools to get it done

I will be using a T4 flange which I allready have, i just wanted to try and make it a little cleaner then welding onto the stock manifold. Like you said very easy to do and it works, I just wanted to go a little step further.

*EDIT* Sorry did you mean get a peice of flat 6mm steel, trace the exhaust manifold and actually make that plate? I think you did I totally mis read it ..... thats a good idea ..... but I dont have access to a plasma cutter anymore .....

Most exhaust shops should be willing to help you out provided that you have traced the head plate out on a sheet of paper, bolt holes and all. They'll just fax it off to their suppliers and you should get one in a few days.

I just noticed you're in Sydney. I have access to a laser cutter, so i can get 6 individual flanges done for about 15 bucks each, maybe less. Same as these, but in mild steel

Weld your pipe on and away you go.........

Did anyone ever tell you all how good all you guys are?

wow Liverpool exhaust, there still around thats awesome, ive actually been to that place about 12 years ago. From memory they where the only ones that made mandrel bends in store! (way back when that is lol)

Mr EBXR8 you have mail! (about that manifold you may want to sell)

DA22LE: I really appreciate that offer thats mighty nice of you (and the price is awesome), but I was hoping to get one single plate along the head, as I beleive this will help for strength. With a T04Z bouncing round on top id like that little extra support. again thank you though for the offer!

Tickford_6: I sent EBXR8 a mail about his manifold he may want to sell, but if that dont work out and I cant afford that one, im deffenatly going to try Liverpool exhaust and Pacemaker, thank you for your help!

Excabbi: I guess the ones I have tryed (I live in country towns) are not familiar / nor really want to help with this kind of stuff, il try Liverpool and Pacemaker and see if they come to the party :)
