Hey guys,

Last week I bought a set of 4499's off of here a week or two ago, and got them fitted with my stock cat and exhaust system (not sure if it is stock EB XR6 but at the cat flange it is split into two mufflers and then joins back into one muffler box at the rear which I removed). There are a few small holes; one at the rear of one of the mufflers, and another on the welding where the pipe splits into two.

Over the past week I have noticed I am using a lot more fuel, before I would get 400ks out of a tank with regular driving (bit of hard driving included), and now I am getting around probably 250-300, With soft driving. I have narrowed it down to a couple of things just wondering if you guys could tell me what you reckon it is.

a) Exhaust holes
b) O2 sensor
c) Leaking injector
d) ECU??? Is it worth resetting the ECU and driving like a grandma to see if I get better economy?

Any help's appreciated guys

Cheers

put the O2 sensor out of your old manifold onto the Pacemakers and see if that makes a difference.

Yeah the O2 sensor is connected to that hole with the thread at the cat end of the extractors. Someone told me to replace the O2 sensor when you get extractors? I didnt though...

might be a good idea, depending how old your oxy sensor is. what i meant in my first post was, if the extractors came with an oxy sensor in it, swap that one with the one that was already on the car.

Ah, no the extractors didnt, I just re-used my old one... How much for a new one roughly or should I just go to a wrecker or U-Pull-It?

about $60 or something. im on earthing or damaged 02.

you don't do a lot of sort trips? if the sensor doesn't get hot quick, it doesn't read properly, so short trips will use a little more fuel.

Are you down on power? Could it be a blocked cat?

Na goes hard as still. My exhaust is making this really bad ticking noise/backfiring/popping. Not the good kind, sounds like crap (think VL lifters).

Getting a 2.5" Redback system tomorrow so hopefully that will get rid of it, if not, the noise is probably caused by the cat so I might just gut it for the time being until I have the cash for a hi-flow...
