trying to make one good car out of two
na fairlane 3.9L MPI with T5 was running sound, into EB fairmont that had no engine or auto. put it all together and the eb wont fire, has 3.9L manual computer, power to coil, checked coil in another car but cant get spark. im stuck and in desperate help before going insane |

try a coil and distributor and ign leads you know works other than that dont know

is it an EB2 Fairmont? might be smartlock keeping the car from starting. if i remember correctly, you need the smartlock bypass module.

it is an EB2 going by the door handle theroy, i am unsure if it has smartlock, how do i know and where would i find a bypass module?
i forgot to mention no power at key wire for starter motor |

Then it should crank over. cheers.........

i thought with the manual ECU i didnt need play with auto wires, how ever i tried linking the inhibitor plug still no crank.
if this EB2 had smart lock and my manual ECU didnt have smartlock, would i require an IDM input wire from dizzy to pin 4 of ECU? not sure which wire on dizzy or if this makes any sense at all??? |

Have you tried running 12v directly too the starter relay pin so it switches battery voltage to the starter motor-->to see if it cranks? You could just install a push button switch like on the typhoon etc ? just an idea....

engine cranks fine with wire from battery or the use of a screw driver.
i am more concerned about getting a spark, to get engine to running. |

Which TPS are you running????....there 2 different TPS's for them....maybe a cause????
