Hey guys I'm trying to narrow down some things here so it wont cost me a fortune to get it repaired by a trans specialist.
I recently took it to a trans specialist and told him about the limp mode and he couldn't find a problem... Let alone do it while he had it I am not having any problems with the cluster going spastic so that one is ruled out. It doesn't always do it, but it is getting more regular. Today I turned off the ignition (while driving at 60 ks) and turned the car back on and it went back to normal. Stopped at the shops, started it again and it drove in limp mode again.... I'm sure you are getting the picture now LOL..... It is only ever doing it when I first start the car, hot or cold start, and it never goes into limp mode while driving. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated before biting the bullet and taking it to a specialist again

get some fault codes out of it first. However, by the sounds of it, you might need to clear them as there will be a s**t load of them waiting for you

I had same problem as you in my EB and my Trans specialist had no luck either.
Do Self Fault Code Test with a LED test light. Here is link http://codes.rennacs.com/plugins/FordTr ... Falcon.php Also make sure battery is in good nick as that can trigger it. If your handy with tools take your trans pan off and with a multimeter check to make sure all on/off solenoids read around 25-40 OHM. Any that read to high or to low may be faulty. I was troubled with this for over a year and did everything possible to diagnosis the cause but found nothing! I have since ripped the auto out and replaced it with a manual. Might be worth contemplating lol Most people seem to sort it out though Wish you luck mate
