My old mans old work car EB fairmont had this function, my el fairmont doesn't do this. Do the EL ghia have this function? Anyone done this mod.... Would be good for an alarm for voltage sensing trigger as my drivers door handle got a good work out last night.
Nothing stuffed except for that they ripped the metal dust cap of the keylock hole with a screw driver and a few scuff marks. They buffed out alright...lol,... Cheers..

My XF ghia had a similar option. Had a light in the door lock that when you lifted the door handle the light in the lock came on. This wouldn't be that hard to make work on anything with enough thought (and energy)

the fairlanes all have it,not sure on ghias. it illuminates the keylock too so u can see where it is at night, though most people use their remotes now.
there was a guy on here that wanted to delete this from his eb ghia? or lane, coz people can lift the handle at night and see whats in the car. |

Never even thought about this, now it would be a bad idea.

first you have to get the key barrels with the lights in them, and the trigger switches that bolt to the bach of the door handles. The bcm controls the light delay which you will have to get from s high series. My FE LTD and NA fairlane both have this function.

EA Ghias have this function as well. It doesn't work as well with EL doorhandles though as the little tab on the back of the handle that closes the switch for the lights is a little bit too short. I managed to retain this feature though by tieing the plastic tab to the metal contact with a bit of string. It's dodgy but it works.

It fits, but I was finding that as soon as I'd lift the handle once, the metal contact would slide past the handle, stopping the lights from working.

I have the switches for the backs of the handles if anyone wants them... No good to me... No other bits though... Only bought the front door looms for the power window wires...
