the Barra motor will probably fit - modification of the K frame will be needed.
i looked into this a little bit. Not a great deal available. decided to go clevo route as in the long run cheaper and will keep resale higher. i believe the XR-XY series engine bays are Very similar to the XD-XF's.... you can put an AU motor in a XD-XF using XG-XH engine mounting parts. BA motors mount the same as AU motors so it should be pretty simple to get the motor in the bay, Good luck getting it running properly either using Stock BA ECU or after market. as for the Nissan motor anything is possiable.... |

XG engine mounts aren't required, they're the same as EA items, use the EA upper and XY lower engine mounts.
I'd modify the sump before I'd cut the crossmember in an early falc. EDIT: besides, I'd put it in on the engine mounts to see how it fits before cutting at things. After all the early falcs had pretty cavernous engine bays. |

I know you've probably heard many people saying don't use the Nissan motor, keep it all Ford etc., and I'm not going to start preaching along those same lines - I'm a firm believer in doing your own thing with cars, but I really don't think they are that incredibly powerful - I mean, they're OK in a light car but end of the day you're looking at 2.5 litres pulling an XY around...I've raced my car (351 XB coupe) against a number of skylines and frankly have been amazed at how little they really have - I reckon there is a LOT of hype about these motors. I mean, yes, there are some powerful ones out there but your average daily driver ones aren't that quick.
As someone else said , I ended up going clevo cos its cheap (pulled everything out of a junk fairlane I paid $500 for, still have lots of other spares and bits - and sold the fairlane's remains for $500 !!! so essentially free) and, IMHO, no nissan is ever going to sound as nice... But, end of the day, you do what you want to your car, and I'll respct you and your ride - it aint up to me or anyone else to tell you what to do...
