Hi guys,
I've got two issues at the moment with my brakes (and possibly wheel bearings) ... Firstly, I've got an annoying squeeking coming from me right rear wheel... It goes away under braking but is there whenever the brakes aren't applied... Could it be anything other than bad pads/rotors as I do have cheap ones fitted...? Also, I get quite a bad shuddering coming from my front left wheel occaisonally when I turn or go down a steep driveway at low speeds... It will never just do it pulling up to the lights. Any ideas? I'm thinking it's a wheel bearing.

when my wheel bearing was f**k it was making a scraping griding metal sound as i was driving and when i would turn it would be worse so i changed it and all good but not sure if that the same as your explaining.

i had the same stupid squeak from the right rear on my xr8, would go away when braking.
i lubed the slides on the caliper and put a bit of silastic between the piston and the pad to stop the pad slightly moving and it went away, not sure witch one fixed the problem though.

I've gotten rid of the squeaking... I just replaced the s**t rear brake pads with some Ferrodos... No more squeaking!
However, a few days before i replaced the pads I started to get a slight knocking from the rear at very low speeds... So now I have to figure out what that is!

that could well be diff chatter if you have an LSD......
Usually happens whent he diff is warm and you are slowing down or turning a corner under light or no loads. If that could be it, you should change the diff oil and get an oil with a friction modifier. These can limit the effectiveness of your LSD, but will fix the chatter.

Nah I know diff chatter. This sounds brake related... But I might be wrong!
