Okay so a few months ago I FINALLY got around to purchasing a ford.

Always been a ford fan, but made alot of silly purchases, few motorbikes and assorted (gasp) holden esq hatchbacks (daewoo cielo lol, a barina etc etc). Considering my family are huge ford fans, my dad has a 70 capri and a 68 mustang, It was high time i lived up to expectations.

So i purchased an ED falcon fairmont. Funnily enough my fav falcon series is the EF/EL, and i went for the ED simply because i could go aftermarket on the steering wheel. (but now fell in love with my ED after mods)

Anyway, enough rambling.

Okay so what i have done so far is:

* shaved the door handles and resprayed both sides,
* lowered onto 19" chromes using king springs, koni lowering shocks,
* removed the rear wing
* Clear indicators front and rear,
* Customized the boot trim (still needs work looks crappy atm)
* tinted windows darker than legal lol (except rear atm, got frustrated while making the mechanism for the shaved doors and threw a spanner at the rear window, havnt got arount to retinting it)
* Custom painted sports steering wheel matching the outside colour
* Painted centre cosole matching outside colour
* Fluffy dice from review mirror mod

And here are the pics so far:

The rims are brand starcorp racing 19". They also make 19" "replica" (at least they look preety similar to) BA> XR6/8 rims.

I was actually considering getting genuine BA> rims but wanted something a bit different.

I too was never a fan of the ED, but i saw potential, and as i said i went with it purely not to be limited to the factory steering wheel. With the doors shaved, i have fallen in love with my ED, and am glad i went that route.

Future plans are:
* XR6/8 twin lights (not sure how as it has the fairmont bonnet, might need to replace bonnet?)
*respray roof (clear coat peeled off in speed stripes either side lol)
* respray boot lid where i had to remove and bog the rear spoiler
* Turbo
* Remote door poppers

Looks nice but my only opinion is the painted grey garnish with the clear lights makes it look like a VN. Quick look. Otherwise awesome job on the shaved door handles and nice car. :)

ok i normally dislike (with a passion) clear tailights on a boxcar. Never seen a set that looked good

BUT against your car's colour, with the clean smooth look of the shaved handles, and custom boot mod, i think it looks pretty good. The whole car just looks mint

The chrome rims imo stick out too much and take away the sublte clean look......i reckon a rim with a polished lip and white sprayed centres would go nicely, or even gunmetal grey centres?

Have you gotten rid of your cruise control function with that steering wheel?
I noticed it has the EB grill on it. Have you changed it?

I like what you've done. Good effort.

Maybe BA side clear indicator or a AU.

And the rear garnish, thats something i dont like though. Looks like its still in primer and incomplete.

The tech doco about how you shaved the door handles will be liked by all.

Cheers

I think its just the photos, the rear garnish doesnt look like its in primer IRL, but i intend to change it anyway
