A while ago my 93 EB backfired which i thought was due to water on the dizzy any who some times it misses when driving, by which i mean it rev and takes a few seconds to kick back in !
Now i just came from a drive in the hills and was ready to take off the line and my car died but since i was listening to Cindy Lauper "Time after time" as loud as i could, i couldn't tell whether it had backfired or not as the time i was on gas and when i got home the gas was idling rough and the petrol was smooth ! What could it be?

Some information Plugs not sure, leads are new ! Now it also seems like it is running rough due to low revs because when i rev it, it seems to feel abit better !

get the gas system checked and tuned, and test all the ignition circuit.
a good way to minimise the damage is to either take the clips off the airbox and put an occy strap over it, or drill it will a hole saw and put a rubber grommit in there.

Ok well the car is still running like crap on gas and someone said it could be a vaccum hose, anyway tonight i went to turn the heater on so my face could warm up and no matter what mode i have it on, on the climate control only the front heater vents work. i had a look under the bonnet and the green/black and black hose coming out from the firewall arent connected to anything (i know the green/black one isnt meant to be because we blocked it off due to earlier car problems. What could be the problem and how do i got about fixing it ?

the climate control works on a vaccum line from the engine. chances are this has blown off so the cc doesnt work, and is allowing air to be sucked in from the tee piece it blew off (as well as dust etc)
there should be a spot to plug it back on to to. Have a look where the brake booster line goes in to the manifold. there should be a barb there it goes on (the passengers side) and get the system checked and tuned before it goes tits up for good

listen for any sucking sounds in the engine bay near the firewall. If it was ef el i could tell you exactly where it is, but eb im unsure.

that question doesnt make sense mate.
another thing it could be is the air box could be damaged or even blown part of the intake gasket. but i'd be fairly sure you've got a vac leak, so keep looking

Fixed it the problem was a loose vaccum hose that needed to go into the space next to the brake booster !

check your plugs, check pcv valve for running rough, if its a metal one then dont worry bout it, as for vacuum next to your windscreen washer bottle, underneath the intake manifold, theres a little white vacuum tree, check if no hoses came off, if its ok still spray water mixed with soap round your inlet gasket, once you fix problem you should go to gas mechanic and get your gas mixtures checked out, common problem let us know how goes
