Can i put the whole V8 converison in with the standard ecu and then run a 3spd auto C10????

Without the correct signals from the Trans, the motor will be on torque restriction. So you will either need a manual ECU or you will need to trick the ECU into thinking that it has an operating 4 speed auto

Assuming you have everything to hook the box up to the 302, you will need to make sure driveshaft is the right length, that it fits in the trans tunnel, and then you may have to modify where trans crossmember is.

The problem I see is that you need to stop being lazy.

Do the conversion as it's intended if you're going to do it at all. Otherwise you are going to wind up with your V8 spinning at stupid speeds at highway k's with a 1:1 top gear or if you combat that with a lower diff ratio then you're going to wind up with a absolute slug that chews juice around town.

If you're not going to update the drivetrain as well, I say, don't bother!!
