Hey there,
I'm wondering if anybody has some ideas how to get a harmonic balancer off an ED without- a... Destroying it b... Purchasing a harmonic balancer removal tool. I've got everything to make a puller up, but I'll bet theres a dodgy way of getting it off quicker, like bolting a few high tensile bolts to it and whipcracking it with some heavy chain. Thank you, P. |

not really.. its best to use a puller to get if off or you risk damaging timing case or your self..
unless you want to cut away at it bit by bit with an angle grinder... |

the balancer pullers are about $16 to buy new from parts places, or $34 from supercheap. ring around

I ended up using a timing chain wheel of an XF, 3 engine mount bolts (half inch, about 125 mm long), and a m20 bolt in the centre against the retaining bolt. Handy to know if you get stuck in the boonies like I did...
