ive been told an ef 4 speed auto trans will bolt onto an AU xr6 motor if i use the au bell housing, is this true???? If so would it all bolt straight together???, or what else would i need for the operation?????? Cheers for any help............

Actually, the E series auto will bolt straight up to the AU engine. The two lower bolt holes do not line up, but there a quite a few guys driving around like this with no issues.

I think you will find that trying to change the bellhousing on an Auto is not as straightforward as it sounds.

Sorry mate i tend to disagree there as it is very much straight forward. simply pulling out the torque converter undoing the 6 bolts i think there are and reverse the process. You just need a double hex socket for the belhousing bolts and thats it!
