just had a new fuel pump in and now the car runs b-e-a-utifull.......except when you try and idle it, the car just dies in the a***, it will sit on 500rpm(ish) and then die, it starts running fine if you try and run it at around 1500rpm but if you take your foot off the throttle it will die, if you try and coax it with the throttle from 500rpms it will take a few seconds of chugging (deciding if it wants to rev or die!) for it to rev backup - ps slow coax or a fast stab on the throttle doesnt make much of a difference.

what are new:

leads
sparkplugs
coil
distributer
fuel pump
fuel filter

any ideas on what it wont idle?

any help would be appreciated guys :)

MAF sensor seems fine, air filter is relativly new.

i found one of the sparkplug leads not connected properly, once i it was reconnected it ran more like it did before all these troubles started, but it still has trouble with idleing properly.
