Just a quick brain drain question .What would cause extended cranking time when starting the EF at the start of a day.Up to 30sec is required some days, starting for the remainder of a day is OK.

is the car on gas?
could be a number of things like not getting a crank angle signal, injectors although i doubt it, fuel pump not suppling fuel. does it feel like it even wants to kick over or does it just crank for ages? 30 secs is a long time so i would tend to think of it as a computer problem eg no crank signal. once its running does it run smooth and normal |

My Duel Fuel EA was a pig to start cold, and then the 'petrol start' gauge died.
I replaced with a non petrol start gauge and it always start beautifully on LPG and petrol afterwards.

if u got no spark it will be a crank angle sensor if u got spark put a pressure gauge on a t peice in ur fuel line and see if i holds pressure wen the car turns off if it doesnt the fuel is leaking back to the tank and u gotta crank it a while coz it takes a while to get fuel back up...
