Is the Catalytic converter for the V8 AU the same as the one for the I6 AU?

There are no specific cats for specific cars. They are governed by what there size, what type of material they are made of, the quality of them etc etc etc!

i think a performance cat is around 300 - 400, maybe more depending on brand.... as for the mufflers depend what you want.... straight through???? ive seen some for as little as 50 bucks then there are some for 150.... all depends.

wouldnt it be easier to put a full sports system on instead of replacing the std one with a std one??
i assume your system is rusted out??

you can get a full 2 1/2" cat back system for around $300 and a 2 1/2 cat would cost between $150 and $220.

These other guys make sense, a WHOLE new system would be a much better route. The genuine Ford one is like poison, after market ones are better and cheaper.

These guys seem to have some goodness available:
Sureflo exhaust
