i have a 93 ebll gli how hard would it be to add the cruise control setup

and would any one have a wiring diagram to be able to add the cruise control

Depends how technically minded you are and how good you are at wiring and soldering. Do a search im quite sure there are topics covering this.

I "think" it will require a new ECU

You won't need a new ECU.

What you will need is the floor loom and steering column loom from a Fairmont or Futura that has cruise. The 'Speed Controller' is located under the centre console from factory and the plug for this is part of the high end loom, which also will have the plug and wiring for power windows.

It is possible to build your own loom and place the Speed Controller where ever you like, and then splice into the GLi loom at the required places.

You will also need to source all of the vacuum components for the system as well. It is actually quite a complicated arrangement.

Alternatively, it is possible to use the EF/EL electronic system and splice it into the wiring, and extend/join the two models cruise control cables to each other to reach the throttle body. This would require modification of the EB/ED cruise switches however.

Thanks for the clarification. Wasn't 100% sure if you would or not.

Out of curiosity, my ED Fairmont (cruise control as standard) i put a sports steering wheel in it. Would i simply be able to get aftermarket switches from Jaycar and mount them elsewhere? would that work? Would any type switch work or would it need to be a specialized one?
