I have a prob and i think its my fuel pump on my 302, you put the foot in and it dies in the a** ( cuts out ), you back it off slowly and it will evetually get up there but it seems if you open the carb right up at once theres not enough fuel going in.....

what happens if you gradually put your foot down instead of just stomping on the accelerator?

could be an accelerator pump, but if it does it as the revs get higher, i would suspect a clogged filter

is it the original carby, or a holley?

nothing wrong with quadrajets if they're looked after

before doing anything drastic, replace the fuel filter that's screwed into the drivers side rear of the carby, and consider putting a carby kit through it

Cheers

after playing with the pump and pulling the carb apart i would say the carb is beyond a kit, so i will be on the hunt for a holley
Cheers

lol, no its the same as b4 the way it behaves and runs, i say i think its buggered cause inside it is a bit corroded, the float seems up the s**t and it doesnt seem to have an adjustment, fuel also pisses out the pump plunger top on the top of the carb, its also missing its choke setup, i think it could be better i just buy a holley
Cheers mate
