Well i couldnt for the life of me find an au maf in the last couple of weeks so i decided to get a whole motor and forget about the maf.
I found an au lane motor with 110000, its got all the front dress complete and everything else is there too(except the maf :( )
Pick it up 2morrow as my early birthday pressie. :D

Not really dude,$1100.
Just to get the manifold and heads was going to be about a grand.
Probably just sell off the coil packs and front dress and if the injectors are bluetops they will get sold too(forgot to check, too busy concentrating on checking the heads out)

I've got a Pro-M 75mm Maf sitting at home that's calibrated for 24lb injectors. If you have some 24s and want to give it a crack, you're welcome to

Cheers chad but i think ill stick with the 19 pounders so i dont need to tune it :D I couldnt make up my mind where to get it tuned in perth so i got a motor instead(cost the same roughly).
Just looking at the exhaust ports and the 3rd port on each head has a tunnel port back towards the intake manifold, im assuming this is something to do with emissions?
I know the ho maf will be a restriction but ill see how i go, id be happy with a high 14.

Nice buy Shannon.
Not only did you get 40P's and an Explorer but you also got a 65mm T/B and matching blank EGR spacer :D
Those holes in the exhaust ports will be for the EGR. Although the AU doesnt have an operating EGR im pretty sure the heads and manifold have the allowances for them. Or maybe just the heads do and it stops at the manifold.
I'll keep and eye out for an AU maf housing for ya too.

I could be wrong, but I thought the reason they calibrated the MAF was so you could put the larger injectors in with the MAF and it should run sweet. Maybe someone should come in and correct me if I'm wrong?

edit - After thinking about it, surely the car would then run rich?

Im not real sure dude, wont have to worry about that for a while coz i have to find another lower manifold anyhow :( .
I think ill just have a play with the heads while i bide my time and make the wait worthwhile, no point putting them back on completely stock.
