park it on your lawn, put a sprinkler in front of it and turn the sprinkler on, wait a couple of hours, the constant soaking should've softened the bugs up a bit

Another thig to try is as follows.....

Before you are making a long drive, get some car wash and wipe it over the front of your car (bonnet and bumper) leave it in it's concentrated form and allow it to dry.

When you reach your destination, simply hose or wash your car and the bugs will wipe off.

Wipe the area down with metho. Then clean it with a strong car wash such as Armorall Heavy Duty Carwash, which is designed for bug removal.

whenever i wash the car i almost always get a spray bottle and some of that export bug and tar remover and water it down to about 25%. spray it all over the bonet and front fender as well as anywhere else where there is bugs, then just wash the car. seems to get them off..

That works wonders ... removes any crap that is stuck on hard ... and isn't hard on the paint at all ... that's what I was told my a car detailer .... they use Prepsol ... but was told Metho does the same thing but at a fraction of the price.

Have removed some nasty bugs and bad tar spots off the Territory ... no hard rubbing needed either ... doesn't discolour paint either ... as along as you wipe straight over with a clean cloth afterwards ... but wash immediately afterwards.
