well my brother wants to know if there is such a thing as he's been told by a bloke that dose engins and things like that that he has an ef motor with adjustiable vernier gear,port and polished head(said because the intake and extake are smoth means its port and plished) and has forged interals for $2000 but was then told by my cusin not to trust him because hes is know to say stuff just to sell things

cant check unless the rocker cover is clear haha, u need to put them on to dial in (degree) the cam if its a hottie, custom cam.

lol cool. um he wants to know if there would be any benifort of putting a ea xr6 s pac(i thought that the spac was the same as a xr6) head onto a standard ef motor?

no..
as there is no such thing as an ea xr6... the ea s pac has a std 3.9 head.. and is not a xr6/tickford head..
the eb was the first xr6 tickford.,..

but the ea 3.9 head will fit an ef but is not a xr6 item...

he's asking $2000 for an engine with over $3500 in rods and pistons and probably a over $1000 in headwork and you are worried only about the cam gear?

I would be realllllly suspect on the forged bottem end too. Like Tickford_6 said there is alot of dosh in a forged bottem end. If it is a high comp motor I will bet everything i own that is has not got forged pistons. THEY DON'T EXIST! Forged hi comp pistons need to be cstom made. All sounds a bit sus to me. Pull the sump off and inspect the bottom end and the rocker to check the cam gear. My bottom end is all forged and it has cost well over $3500. Check the motor out properly to be safe!
