|
hi all wots involved when installing an EF alternator into an EA? pics would be great and any advice would also help. thanks

The pulleys are different and the mounting position may be slightly off. Also they have a different plug on EA but that's an easy fix. If you want to run the EF alternator, the best thing to do is the serpentine belt conversion. I actually took some photos of the 2 alternators recently. The EA one is the clean one.

You can just change those two front pullys and how it mounts.

the pulleys wont interchange.. ive tried that.. the ef alternator has a shorter shaft iirc..
do a search for a thread by paulmac. he put a ef alternator on his ed with a little modification to how it mounts and keeping the 4pk belt on the 6pk pulley.. afaik it all worked out fine.. |
