Hi,
I am running a dual fuel set up on my 5 litre EF with the standard throttle body and lpg mixer(LG) squeezed in between the throttlebody and the MAF while this is adequate for economy it seems to strangle it over about 3500rpm. What I was thinking about was replacing this set up with a gas research (400) mixer bolted to my intake instead of the standard throttlebody (This would have to flow better for lpg surely!!). I was then thinking I could fit the electronics from the top of the standard throttlebody to the gas research mixer (I am not sure about putting the stepper motor on it?). I cant see why the gas mixer wouldnt work on petrol as well. As with the gas switched off and the injectors turned on it should work exactly the same as a normal throttlebody shouldnt it ??? Have I overlooked anything? What are the thoughts out there?? |

The stepper for idle control won't fit straight on, but there is a manual adjustment on the Gas Research TB IIRC. Been a while since i've looked at the GRA 440 on my Turbo Torana. Busy with other projects.
There's been a few car's that have had the factory TPS switch mounted onto the GRA TB so you can run dual fuel. You will also need to use the matching converter if you change to the GRA TB. Cheers ToranaGuy

You can mount a ford TPS to a GRA throttle body, but you need to be sure its got the right fitting on the side.
ISC generally has some fittings screwed into the bottom before and after the butterfly with the ISC remote mounted. It can used for dual fuel without issues. I ran mine duel fuel for a few years.

Thanks Mate,
I thought it was possible just got to find the bits now. It would have to run better than with the impco 220 on it. Cheers Fitter |
