personally i would go with a 10w 40 on the next oil change.
i know the series 1 au's were recomended 5w 30 .. but for some reason ford had changed to 10w40 somewhere between series 1 and series 3.. i heard it was due to an oil consumption issue? |

Anybody? yeah i'll comment. there absolutely no reason why you can't. i use it my AU and i used it in my 225 000km old EF when i had it too. I really can't believe the misinformation on this website when it comes to oil. |

if the engine is burning that much oil you'd see it on the spark plugs and in the tail pipe.
pull the plugs out, take a photo and post up. |

(trying to sell my sisters commodore and had a bloke check the dipstick and the smell it lol bloody holden people.) My AU is using well dripping f**k all oil on the ground which is what i suspect is a slowly dying front oil seal behind the balancer (can't see anything else anywere) I would suggest change your oil now with a decent branded oil and a consistance rated for AUIII and if it uses oil I suspect that something is ari

or you could be driving it hard. from my personal experience, revs seems to draw oil through the pcv and into the intake.
I took the top half of my BBM off, and it was oily all the way through. The only reason I can see is that my use of revs has caused oil to be stripped from the rocker cover into the intake from the pcv, and rocker cover lines.
