Wow... you still alive and with us.. lol

Ummm, clutch there is no inspection.. Replace when it slips and makes noises.

Auto's are sealed for life and require no servicing or fluid maintenance.

It might say that about the auto, but it's a bad idea to never change it.

No derrrr

He asked a question, I answered... I think he's long standing enough a member/Ford owner to realise that the recommendation is stupidly ridiculous.

Check pedal travel clearance every 10 000km.

Thats cheating, they are optional extras...

And the book only quotes the clutch pedal check once at 10,000 as an optional extra, and the EL manual only lists fluid change for a manual trans at 80,000km. Auto is nothing.

In the EL manual (with the Ghia on the cover), pedal travel is listed with a checkbox every 10 000km (as req'd).

The servicing coupons only go up to 150 000km, so I guess we'll never know :( .

EDIT: Nothing wrong with cheating  .
Time to hit the sack - **Puts Owners manuals back into bedside drawer. **

80,000 kms is way to far between oil changes for a manual. I'd do it every 20K, especially if town driving ( up & down gears a lot ).
In auto's the fluid should be done every 20K too......sealed for life...what a crock.
No oil lasts forever, gets hot and cold ( condensation ), has metal in it ( gears meshing/running in & bushes ), friction material in it too.

Pretty sure the manual says to change the auto fluid regularly in extreme conditions (taxi driving, delivering, towing etc)
