Well it is quick and easy i guess the el that i have has the space for it as you would probably know so i thought id give it a go and slam one in there. i have already ordered one and will have to see how it goes, might sound terrific to me, or absolutely s**t !

SMART IDEA good luck bud but as i said most subs will sound like s**t unless there fully enclosed excepting a range of free to air drivers which are designed to run off free air not compressed air and u say u oredered as sub wtf u just go to wherever and by 1 Drifty

the ef fairmont ghia came with premium sound that included a subwoofer which is built into the parcel shelf.
I can take some photos if you wish but its sound is good but not as bassey as most. when it first came out it would have cost an extra $5,000-$7,000 to have this system installed from factory.

make sure it's an open air sub and it will be fine. though the catch is, an open air sub will never sound as good as a boxed sub, it's the compromise you have to make to keep things looking factory. i was guna put an mtx 8" sub in my bf but would have to change the parcel tray carpet and everything so decided phuk it n put in a boxed 15 in the boot.... the giant chasm of a boot still has plenty enough room.

I built a Free Air sub car once ( HQ Holden ) that beat not only alot of boxed sub cars but also Humiliated Howed Astils Pioneer Rock XA Coupe so dont be fooled by box or no box it all comes down to who you get to install your system http://rlsnell.20m.com/Parotcar.jpg |

I'm thinking of turfing the box sub I have for a parcel shelf free air sub as well.
You see, I want to use my boot normally, I want all the space back. Audiocom told me that all parcel shelf 8" subs pop when the music is too loud in EF/EL Falcon. Yet, every Lexus I've been in, my dads 300C, and a friends RX8 which all have free air subs sound fantastic. And that's what I want it for. Purely for sound quality and nothing else. I don't drive my music to ridiculous levels, I just want nice warmth with some nice lows. Is this not achievable? |
