1 Is there any difference between a single rail 6 cylinder and single rail v8 gearbox?
2 Does a top loader and single rail use the same bellhousing?
3 How easy is it to brake a single rail box?
4 Are all Ford single rail boxes the same! Are there short shifters for single rail boxes?

6 & 8's are different, as well being different in ratio's too. 6 cyl were 3.32:1 first gear ( XD to XF ).
The 8's had taller 1st gears....351..about 2.46:1.....302...about 3.06:1. ( XD & XE ).
XC were a little different.....302 & 250 were 3.06:1.
Trans numbers...XC....0503-009.......302 & 250.
XC....0503-008.......351.

XD/XE ......200's.......1st gear 3.43:1 ( NSW ).
......302 & 250 EFI ( XE )........3.06:1.
......351..................2.46:1
