I’m trying to wire in an EMS stinger to a KN Ford laser (FS-DE 2.0l engine). I believe everything is wired in correctly, I’m just having some issues getting the timing right as well as the spark sequencing.

The stinger is triggering from the crank (4 evenly spaced triggers per crank rotation) and synced from the cam sensor (one trigger every cam rotation)

We are running a wasted spark setup with a dual channel ignitor firing a set of dual post coils.

At the moment when cranking, I seem to get number 1 and number 4 sparking at half the rate as number 2 and 3.

Also hocking up a timing light to number 1 is showing it firing about 30deg BTDC. I’ve tried to adjust this with the static timing option but there is no difference if I have it on 0 deg or 50deg.

Can anyone help at all. I’ve been working on and off on this for over month and have completely run out of ideas.

Hey,

Why you running wasted spark, when you can run sequential spark and injection?? I would say that you spacer wheel is out of whack to the crank. Lock the timing and set it on the motor, and then crank and see what the timing is ( say 10deg ) then set it in the ECU set-up screen.

PITA trying to sort this stuff out.....

Cheers

Daz
