I think I have just done the most retarded thing ever. Completely finished installing the manual gearbox, and just realised I forgot to put a spigot bearing in. Before I pull it all off again can someone just confirm for me that autos definitely don't have a spigot bearing in the back of the crankshaft?

No Spigot for Autos. Out she comes again unless its had a manual before and the spigot bearing is still there..

auto's have a little round part on the end of the convertor that sits in where a manual spigot bush sits.

I've heard someone running without a spigot bearing without issues...but my memory is shot.

Ive also seen damage caused by not having the bush - Input shaft bearings and retainer chewed out.
Fix it right. Nigel |

I think the chances are more like 100% it will kill the box without a spigot bearing.

as above, it'll kill the box and dont forget the pilot bearing makes sure the driven plate is in the centre.
No for Autos having a bearing. Ford make an awesome bearing, I bought on a few weeks ago, was iirc $27, I'll update and included the p/n and price. Sure any maker will work, but there are just some parts that exceed competition standards.
