They are a bit of a pain to change as well. The bonnet cable runs to the front through the front guard. Ive changed mine and a bit of swearing was involved.

If your lucky you might be able to get a new bonnet cable and take the parts broken and put it on the old one. 8-)

Don't know if this is relevent to a BA this was on an XF.If it's just the grab that the fingers go around I have fixed a couple by super gluing some thick plastic into the crevice cut to size. What I used was a piece cut from an Apple Imac shell about 5mm thick and slightly curved worked perfectly.Even if you put in a new one and it is able to be strengthed this way might be worth doing.Cheers.

Definitely get a new one from Ford, they've made changes to them, the new design ones don't break.

I got mine replaced under warranty, new one's been great.

Do you know the parts number for the newer one. There's some on ebay for $15 and some for $30 not sure if the cheaper is the older one.

Not sure, but I think the part number is the same, they made a running change, so any new ones will be fine. Best source it from Ford.

A pair of pliers will be enough to pull the cable to get it open again.
