Thanks for the help guys. It seems 5.0L E-series aren't the easiest things to come by in SA.
If I can find a complete one, wrecking or not, I'll grab it. But otherwise this can just be added to the "maybe one day" list... {USERNAME} wrote: Lol 5kw. You'll get more than 5kw from a half decent cam, and the exhaust note will change again. The wade 1636 gives a 5kw boost with the happiest of dynos. I've seen it many a time. Going anything other than a Wade will mean a lot more $$$ and not much, if anything, more to show for it. My car being a standard auto with standy stally and ECU means I'm very very limited as to what cams I can use. I've heard a 160rwkw EF running with a very lumpy cam and I will shoot the person that says it sounds as good as a V8. {USERNAME} wrote: not putting a downer on what you want to do.. but wouldnt it be easier to sell off the 6 and buy one thats already a v8??? Seen my car lately? There'd be more work in building another EF up to where mine is at the moment than there would be in changing mine to a V8

{USERNAME} wrote: get a 5L wreck swap over looms/motor/trans sell the rest including your 4L s**t ??? profit if you can get a manual 5L wreck, that would be most excellent. ignore 4L fanbois, the faggots shouldn't even be in this forum. lol nice.

big job the engine and trans are easy but the wiring is the hard part , you need an EF or EL as the Donner car for the wiring as you need to change the engine looms and that requires the dash to come out .the k frame's are the same , you need to change the power steer line and the ( if running ) auto lines radiators are the same . i was looking to do the conversion myself .it's a big hasel for a little result

And changing a wiring loom over is a piece of piss. |
