I remember reading a thread on AFF a while back stating they were discontinued to be replaced with the ASYM. Doing a google search now it seems they may have been discontinued but have since been reinstated. Good news for us, I wondered why Goodyear would discontinue the tyre that wins everything.

Apparently there Asymetrical is just as good if not better Wheels highly rated them in the Tyre Test 2008. Where the GS-D3 were Wheels favourite in 2007 if I remember correctly. So it's probably that the Asyms are superior.

Im very happy with my yokohama A drive R1's. I have them on the FTR 16's and they out perform the car itself no trouble.

Ill try the C drive next time, they are a little quieter. Id love to try the Advan's but dont want to know the price!

I use these on my ute, and with the abuse I give em the are holding up really well. Super cheap tyre too. They reduced the audible road noise in the cab by a heap from the yokohama's I had on there. Softened the ride a bit also. Traction in dry is good, wet feels grippy in the front. Not so in the rear in spirited conditions.
Don't know if they are in your size or not.
My 2cents :)

I'm 99% certain I've got Goodyear Excellence (235/45/17s) on the front of my green EF, and they s**t all over the Dunlop SP SPORT 3000A on the rear.
The Dunlops are actually pretty average for a 'performance' tyre too IMO, and theyve worn probably thrice as fast as the fronts.. sure I've dropped the clutch a few times but no smoke shows out of them, and theyre nearly bald whilst the Goodyear's on the front have like 80% tread.

im running 235/45/17 Potenza RE001 on my ba xr8, love them, plenty of traction in the wet and dry and really quiet... the dunlop sp3000 that where on from factory where noisy in all conditions and really bad in the wet.

Awsome to hear as that is what I ended up buying. Pitty the car is not currently running for me to test them.
