jump onto their websites - www.chiptorque.com.au
i had a look - pretty expensive stuff for what they are - min i think was about ~$600 or so, for a basic chip - and you have to send it off to them to get reprogrammed. it can't be dyno tuned if you want to tune it etc, and if you change mods, it costs around $100 to send off to them to get reprogrammed. what kinda mods are you running? if its only minor, then i wouldn't bother - anything reas. serious, i'd look for something with active tuning capacities - eg EMS etc

lol does your car even idle? if thats ~ a stage 4 cam in there (assuming its equilivant to a crow/wade stage 4) then i'd say you'd def be needing something to help the car along! personally, i wouldn't waste the cash getting a basic chip - if you've spent that kinda cash on the car, go with an engine mgt system you can actually tune as you go, to get the best out of the mods you've got.

You'd be looking somewhere between $500-$700 and that amount of money would take about a 1/3 out of the price of a fitted and tuned ECU.

Unichips are around $1100-1300 fitted and tuned, but they don't have idle control on them. If you have idle issues look at a custom dyno tuned chiptorque which will set you back $800-$1k from memory. |

powerchips are ultra basic and only suit cars with different headers and exhaust. once you change the cam and other things the chips dont do the job properly.

Sorry mate but PowerChips arent that good.
Its a onne chip fits all deal... I run a chiptorque custom chip , inwhich was programmed when Lachlan came over Years ago...Realtime on a dyno. Personally I recon chiptorque or Unichip are a good option other than aftermarket ecu's ie haltech, wolf, autronic etc..

Nothing wrong with powerchips for cam mods. but then again if uv spent that much $$$ on your car id reccomend an ems!
ive got a modified cam/exaust/headders/intake "the works" but powerchip is a great way to increase k/w without spending mega buks. providing you get the constant 98octane setting installed. |
