Hey Hey, The annual Dubbo Motor Show is coming and there will be a Dyno on the day, I intend to enter and see what the AU really has, Any risks assoicated with it?

My car is a everyday car and has nothing wrong with it everyting is like A1, should I be worried about anything going bang?

How does a dyno ususally go?

What speed does the car get up too?

What gear is maintained? ( I have been told that the operaters usually stay in 3rd. )

if its manual they will use 4th and will be flat out from about 90kmh all the way to either power starts to drop off or it hits rev limiter..= about 180-190kmh

it can be alittle hard on the engine but if your engine is healthy and cooling system is fine you should be ok..

in the 3 weeks mine was getting tuned it clocked up around 80 km on the dyno and used about 1/2 tank of petrol..lol

It's no worse than thrashing around the streets - unless it's a tuning session thats going for a few hours - glowing pipes, etc. But if the latter is true, you're probably working with a pretty tough engine :)

When they put my BA on the Dyno they used it in manual mode and hit it to 180Kms. Sounded sweet. But yeah i suppose it can be a bit hard on your engine.
