I have driven a 05 ba xt ute and it is a real worry when you pull into traffic and 2-3 seconds later you actually start moving haha very unresponsive.

I've never driven a BA, but surely they're not that bad. From personal experience with a BF Futura, vs a VE Omega, the VE is the far more laggy of the pair. The BF is barely noticeable. In the VE you can stab the throttle to the floor, and release it, and nothing ever happens. In the BF you'd confuse the 4spd auto, and rev the s**t outta the engine. And of course in the GT-P, you'll make smoke.

Its the only ba i have ever driven so i cant speak for the rest, but i am not exagerating when i say it took more than a full second to even register that the throttle had been touched and the first time i drove the ute and tried to pull into traffic i nearly got cleaned up because i never took into account the delay of the throttle made my bumhole snap shut i can tell you.

Having driven many rental cars of different B-series variants, I can definitely say there is a delay and it differs.
BA's are bad, there really is a 2ish second delay between throttle movement and the car actually moving. It really is annoying, but you eventually get used to it. BF's are better in that regard, they don't seem to have as much of a delay. XT/Fairmont/Fairlane's seem worse than an XR6, they seem more responsive. I have noticed that XR6 Turbos and FPV's dont seem to have the delay, they just go. Which is good, because the delay is f**k annoying. data_mine wrote: And of course in the GT-P, you'll make smoke. Why? Did you blow you engine or something trying that? |
