:) Hi mate, $100 is a lot but HID will probably be more $$$.
Unless you get out of the city a fair bit you more than likely won't get the most out of em!
I live in rural NSW & I put Narva Arctic blue 60w/100 as main beams & arctic blue 100w as the high beam bulbs.
Apart from the fact that the roo's are not keen on the blue tint, they are F**king brigt eh!
Think I got the mains for $32pair & high beams for $28.
Cheap an does the job .
Cheers, Spider.

Tom, Go the HID's. They (depending on the colour temperature) will s**t on any halogen bulb. Just do not get anything that is more than 8000k, as your light quality starts to deteriorate. It depends on the colour that you would like to achieve, but IMO, 4300k is the most useful - but I am biasd

I have 4300k H4's (Bi-xenon) in my main beams on the EL, and matching H3's in my fog lights.
My suggestion is to keep a pair of halogens as your high beams. The Reasom for this is that HID's can take a couple of seconds to warm up - making flashing you lights useless.

Or even better, a set of HID lookalikes as high beams so you don't get that ugly yellow colour light.

I got a set of HID lookalikes on ebay for a total of $18 for my ED, much better than the stocks.

Ive heard that once you exceed 6000k not only does your light quality drop but they are also deemed illegal. Well in sa they are anyway.
