Hi guys
I am after some advice on getting a camber and castor kit fitted to the rear of my BF sedan as its chewing out the insides and 19s arent cheap. I have gotten a price of $340 supplied and fitted for a camber/castor kit for the rear but this seems to be a bit high, just wondering what I should be paying and also good brands etc Cheers Phil

I thought BF rear ends came equiped with toe and camber adjustment from the factory.
Mine's just about hit 30,000km and the tires have worn dead even without a problem. Still on the original factory set of Sport Maxx s**t. |

quite a few people have told me this but i was at the tyre shop and they showed me that there isnt anywhere to adjust it, the toe yes but not camber you must be lucky because mine is chewing through them and this was before it was even lowered. Ive got 19s and the tyres have worn past the legal limit with only 15kms on them, granted with 17s i was only just getting over 20kms before having to replace them

Interesting... I thought there were 2 eccentric circle bolts at the middle base of the subframe, pretty much right below the diff. These are for the camber adjustment, or was my understanding. Example:
You sure you don't have rooted bushes... Or the camber bolts haven't been tightened, as I've seen alot of comments about that on XR6T.com about this and scrubbing out tires... Maybe the toe is being set wrong. Unless there is something different about my car being an FPV, but I cant see what. |

its funny you mention those 2 bolts becase i did have an issue with one of them (cant remember which side) was really loose and ford replaced it, would be good to get a confirmation if this does affect the camber, might go have a look on that other forum, i did speak to the guy who actually set the toe on my car and he seemed to know about it all, (granted i dont know exactly but what he said sounded logical ), I dont know about the bushes? the car is only 3 years old with 68kms on it, how long are they meant to last?

My bad... I got my details a** about.
Those bolts are the toe bolts and only XR/FPV sedan's have camber adjustment... So if you don't have an XR, you might be out of luck. Just re-read the factory manual, its not worded very well or straight forward. As for the bushes, they aren't designed to last long... |

All the usual big companies do rear end camber kits for these things.
Nolathane, Whiteline, Super Pro and probably Noltec. Bearing in mind that Nolathane, Whiteline and Noltec are now the same company. Looks like its a entire replacement arm in this case. No ideas on cost, so you'd have to do some ringing around. Have a look on XR6T.com as one of the members works for a suspension place, Wholesale Suspension and they are sponsoring the forums. Might be worth dropping the bloke a PM and asking price, they may be able to do good for you. |

Pedders have a rear kit for $200 (supply).
Not sure what exactly the kit comprises though... |

The rear adjusting bolts for the GT's and XR's could be used. The craddle is the same as are the lower arms, even the nuts for those bolts are the same. The genuine bolts for the lower arms are $29.00 each, $3.90 each for the NEW nuts, part number for the bolts is BA 5R649C and the nuts BA 9N751A.
The upper arm bolts for the adjustable are $58.00 for the right hand side p/n BA 5K751BKT and $58.00 for the left hand side p/n BA 5K751CKT, these have the cams with them. The only difference I can see besides the bolts is that the outer knuckles are different, not sure how much that would impact the adjustment? |

thanks guys, papa smurf, with all that fiddling to make the stock camber kit it might be easier just to get an aftermarket kit for it, thanks for your detailed knowledge though
